Instructor
This workshop is taught by Jessy Delleman, founder of Ravensong Seeds & Herbals.
Jessy has been working with medicinal plants for over 20 years. Her approach is rooted in growing, harvesting, and making medicine in rhythm with the land. Through years of hands-on experience, she has developed clear and reliable methods for crafting herbal remedies, and brings that depth of practice into her teaching.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This two-day, hands-on workshop is an in-depth immersion into the foundations of herbal medicine-making.
Designed to support both beginners and experienced herbalists, this is a space to learn not just how to make remedies, but how to work with plants in a way that is grounded, consistent, and rooted in real practice.
Drawing on over 20 years of experience growing medicinal herbs, crafting small-batch remedies, and running a working herbal business, Jessy will guide you through the core methods used to create high-quality herbal preparations. These are the same techniques used here on the farm, refined over seasons of harvesting, making, and working closely with the plants.
Over the course of the weekend, we will move between the garden and the apothecary. You’ll spend time with the plants themselves, learning how to identify, harvest, and understand them in their living form, before bringing them into the medicine-making process.
Together, we’ll work through a range of foundational preparations including teas, tinctures, infused oils, and salves. You’ll learn clear, repeatable methods using both fresh and dried plant material, with an emphasis on ratios, extraction principles, and consistency.
This is a deeply practical workshop. You’ll be actively making medicine throughout, developing confidence with each step, and gaining a felt sense of the process from plant to finished remedy.
By the end of the weekend, you’ll take home the medicines you’ve created, along with detailed printed notes and materia medica to support your continued work.

“This wasn’t just a workshop, it felt like stepping into a real working apothecary. Learning directly from someone who actually grows, harvests, and makes medicine at this scale made all the difference. You can feel the depth behind everything being taught.”

“The workshop was great for both newcomers to herbs and to seasoned medicine-makers. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with plenty of room for questions and various comfort levels. I loved that all of the medicine-making was hands-on, from harvest to final product. I was so proud of the tincture that I went home with because I had helped with the entire process from start to finish. It was a wonderful way to foster an in depth understanding of how everyday plants become powerful medicine.”
