Habit
To about 1ft tall, this charming little plant showcases slender leaves that closely resemble those of tarragon. Throughout its blooming season, the plant also sends out delicate, enchanting little balloon-like flowers in lovely shades of pink and white. Closely related to Bladder Campion and Maiden’s Tears (Silene vulgaris).
Sun/Soil
Full sun to part sun. Enjoys moist well-drained soil.
Germination/Sowing
Seeds germinate easily and can be sown indoors or out.
Growing/Care
Needs a bit of protection from the harsh afternoon sun, and regular water for best flavour.
Harvesting
The slender leaves can be gathered as needed.
Culinary Uses
The leaves are commonly used in Italy as a seasoning in egg and risotto dishes, flavour is mild and tangy like Arugula.
