Habit
Pretty upright sage with blue flowers and small glossy leaves. Grows to 2.5 feet tall and wide. Roots are an incredible deep orange-red colour hence the name ‘red sage’.
Sun/Soil
Full sun, regular garden soil on the dry side.
Germination/Sowing
The seeds germinate easily and are best sown in flats in the spring and then transplanted out once they are big enough.
Growing/Care
Will grow in a variety of conditions with little care.
Harvesting
Roots are harvested from medicinal use in the fall of the second year onward.
