Habit
To about 1ft tall and wide. Basal leaves with multi-stemmed flower stalks sporting heart, or purse-shaped, seed pods.

Sun/Soil
Full sun to part shade, any soil.

Germination/Sowing
Seeds can be direct sown in spring in all zones, or in the fall in zones 4-8 and the seedlings overwintered.

Growing/Care
Plants will self-seed for continuous successions. Can become weedy but is easy to pull.

Harvesting
The aerial parts are harvested during the flowering period.

Medicinal Uses
One of the best herbs for stopping haemorrhages of all kinds. Astringent and diuretic, great for tonifying the urinary tract.
