How to make Wild Rose Leaf facial toner

In spring, the aromatic leaves of wild rose can be gathered to create a gentle, skin-soothing facial toner. In this video, we share a simple herbal recipe using the fragrant leaves of Nootka Rose (Rosa nutkana), a species abundant here in the Pacific Northwest.

Wild rose leaves are traditionally used to support skin health and bring astringent, toning, and beautifying qualities to topical preparations. While Rosa nutkana is featured in this video, any rose with fragrant, healthy leaves may be used.

This short recipe offers an accessible way to begin working with fresh plant medicine, rooted in seasonality, place, and care.
